3RD CONFERENCE ON RENEWABLE ENERGY CO-OPERATIVES

How the co-operative model has been conducted, enhanced and executed in different countries and its examples will be discussed in the conference organised by The Green Thought Association, Troya Environmental Association, Heinrich Böll Stiftung Turkey Office, WECF, İzmir Energy Co-operative, International Solar Energy Society – Section of Turkey (GÜNDER), Açık Radyo, REScoop.eu and RCDA.

Transition to renewable sources has the utmost importance to free our country from external dependence in terms of energy production. The co-operative model must become widespread in order to enhance and speed up the transition. Together, we will talk about how the co-operative model that is yet unfamiliar in our country, how it has actually been developed, conducted and executed in different countries and examples.

The main theme of this year is energy co-operatives and initiatives in the Balkan region and Eastern European countries. Together with the speakers from these countries which have similarities with Turkey in terms of approaches towards co-operation, we will also discuss the successful national attempts.

On the second day, we will discuss energy efficiency and co-operatives, together with Federation of European Renewable Energy Co-operatives.
