Democracy and the Media

We conduct our activities and develop policies on the basis of a participatory democracy model, one of the cornerstones of green politics. We see the protection and advancement of human rights as a fundamental principle of green thought. Thus, we conduct training, do research and fieldwork first and foremost on gender equality, as well as on supporting women’s and LGBTI struggles and creating social awareness on these issues.

We see an independent and free media environment and organisations as indispensable for a democratic and transparent society. Thus, we work to support the development of alternative avenues in media, principally through training.  We believe that it is possible to have a media order that is anti-hierarchical, anti-authoritarian, participatory, independent, fact-based, open to diverse views and voices, and where horizontal communication, and interactivity are the rule. We do active fieldwork to promote such a media order.
