Many social, ecological, political and economic disasters such as processes of epidemics and wars in the world affect all of us on a global scale. For this reason, we call it the “age of crisis” the age we are in. The current policies, plans and strategies of the states regarding the process, with their slowness and congestion in the face of the urgency of the situation delay the global betterment and even put it at risk.

The Paris Agreement, which is on our agenda in the context of global betterment, and other thematic agreements and targets on issues such as green new order, zero-carbon policy, fair transformation, and energy transformation are being worked on building a new order in line. States promise to change their consumption habits, energy resources and use, and their economic and social policies to prevent and adapt to the climate crisis. At the Green Economy Conference, which we held for the first time in 2009, the focus was on the green new order theme, which had only just begun to be talked about globally at that time. Since then, current debates in this field have continued to be followed. In this context, some webinars have been organized in the past years in line with the definition, content and scope of just transformation, and these have formed the main theme of the 11th Green Economy Conference.

It is necessary to question how well this long-term transformation plan can be carried out in the face of sudden crises such as the COVID-19 epidemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine. It is not possible to follow whether the energy transformation is carried out in a green and systematic way. At this point, it is observed that decision-makers still ignore the climate crisis with their plans to salvage the day.

Accessibility: The conference will be published with simultaneous translation in English and Turkish.
