The climate crisis becomes more devastating with its consequences. It creates social injustices and the vulnerable communities in society are affected the most by ecological and social issues. Some local governments in Europe address these challenges by following transformative policies and reinforcing resilience in the cities with innovative solutions to increase the accessibility to basic needs such as health, sanitation, housing, food, transportation, and water management.
As the Green Thought Association, we aim to be a part of the solution by organizing the conference “Resilience in the City, How?” within the scope of the ongoing project “Cities as Places of Hope”, supported by the Green European Foundation since 2020.
We will gather with various urban actors, academicians and the green movement to raise awareness and capacity by finding out answers to the questions ‘what is the resilience of a city?’, ‘how can the resilience of the cities be increased?’, and ‘what are the social and ecological issues caused by the climate crisis and social injustice via good examples.
The online conference will be held on 15 November 2022, Tuesday at 13.00 (CET+3). We invite you to register and join us to discover different aspects of resilience in the cities and to discuss social perspectives.
