Reach for the Sun at Work!

The project “Reach for the Sun at Work” was realised by the Green Thought Foundation as part of the Promoting Youth Employment in Sectoral Investment Areas II (PYE-II) grant scheme administered by the Turkish Ministry of Employment and Social Security.

The one year long project aimed to, in the long run, increase entrepreneurship and employment prospects among youth. As part of the project, we had seminars in technical schools and their equivalents in the Çanakkake area. A pilot Renewable Energy Centre was set up in the Adatepe locality. Beside these, a series of workshops were held to promote renewable energy cooperatives.

Following three workshops where sectoral representatives, cooperatives and representatives of public bodies met, a Renewable Energy Cooperatives Conference was convened in Çanakkale, where local, national and international representatives came together.

The Face the Sun at Work project started in February 2016 and concluded in May 2017.
